Get it in writing

It has to be in writing and fully signed off on. Period. If both parties didn’t sign it, it didn’t happen. Do not ever trust what someone tells you on the phone, in an email, or in a text. Even if they’ve been great to work with. Even if you’ve known them for years. Even if what they agreed to works in their favor. If you have to go stand in front of a judge and argue your case, “he told me on the phone” won’t cut it. To protect yourself and your clients, always always always get it in writing and fully executed. This will be especially important now in protecting yourself to make sure you get paid!
